24 Weeks Along!

So tomorrow I will be officially 6 months along. I am surprised at how fast and easily this whole process is going. Today at church I sat by a 2 month old boy and had to steal him away from his family. I was feeding him a bottle and he kept making these gasping sounds. I was kind of worried that I was some how suffocating him even when someone told me he makes that noise while eating all the time. It was fascinating holding and feeding this tiny baby. I realized exactly how much I had to learn about being a mom! Of course Patrick stole him away from me and held hm for a good twenty minutes. It's a good thing my husband loves babies!

Patrick's job is going really well, which is great because we are making some expensive purchases in the next two weeks. We are buying a used car, and we are also buying a gas fireplace insert. We are pretty much using our entire tax refund plus some money we had saved up to buy all of these things. We did manage to put some of it away however into savings. I hope we can end of saving a lot more before the baby arrives!

Spring break is almost here! Parent teacher conferences are almost here, so after they are over I am going to love having some down time just relaxing! My mom and dad are also coming for a visit! I am really excited becasue it will be the first time my dad has seen my house.

20 weeks today!

To day I officially 20 weeks along! I went to the midwife and she told me I am roughly due about July 7th. I have another appointment tomorrow. My first appointment was painful. I got jabbed in the same place with a needle 5 times! I have really small veins that resist detection, so the midwife found one, and had to go for it over and over again! She really felt bad, but I told her to just get it over with and keep trying till we had all the blood we needed. I am hoping they won't need blood this time since you not allowed to give more then a pint in 56 days (haha jk!).

On Monday, I actually get to see a sonogram of the baby and we are going to find out what sex it is. I wanted it to be a surprise, but maybe for number 2 we can keep it a secret! I have only gained about 8 pounds so far, so I hope I am not going to balloon out in the last month and get a zillion stretch marks.

How time Flies!

So 2 months have gone by already! I am about 15 weeks pregnant right now. No morning sickness, no ickiness, so I must be one of the lucky pregnant ladies!Also, the secret is out! We told our parents at Christmas. My brother-in-law Eric says he knew at Thanksgiving. Apparently he has a built in baby detector. Cool. Maybe I'll skip the test next time and go straight to him.

I have my first appointment on Tuesday. I am pretty excited. I am going to see a midwife! I always thought I'd have a doctor, but it just didn't work out that way. I will get my first ultra sound in about 1-2 months. I am already starting to wear pregnancy clothes. I've only gained about 5 pounds, but things are really changing.
Tonight Patrick is spending the night outside with the boy scouts. They are working on their "Zero Hero" award, which means they have to sleep outside when it is 0 or below. Tonight it is supposed to be -17 degrees with the wind chill. I'm a little worried Patrick won't come back with all the parts he left with.

When should we tell the family?

So Patrick and I have known that I am pregnant for roughly 5 days. We haven't told anyone yet. We are debating on when to break the news. Patrick thinks if we tell one family we have to tell the other family right away too because otherwise someone would blab. He is sooooo smart! He really knows my family already!

So right now we are thinking we will tell everyone around Christmas. It will be hard not to say anything when we go to see them in a week and a half for Thanksgiving, but I am going to try my best.

I also need to make an appointment to the doctor to find out how far along I am and exactly what I am supposed to be doing right now besides taking vitamins and rubbing cocoa butter lotion on my belly.

I'm pregnant!

So I took a pregnancy test today and it turned out positive. This is great news, if you believe a pregnancy test that you buy for a dollar can really be accurate.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited, but I don't quite believe it's true yet. But I did take pictures of the belly, just in case. It's tradition, right?
